- GATE – A Serious Game to Improve Engagement with Web Accessibility Guidelines. It is established that web designers do not sufficiently engage with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) which have shown to be cumbersome to understand and use. In response, we have recently developed a Serious Game with an aim to raise awareness and increase engagement with the WCAG. I have also been fortunate to work on some exciting research projects in the past funded by the European Commission:
- Cloud based Simulation platform for Manufacturing and Engineering (CloudSME, FP7) Nov 2014-Jan 2015. An FP7 project funded by the European Commission, the cloudSME project will develop a cloud-based, one-stop-shop solution providing a scalable platform for small or larger scale simulations, and enable the wider take-up of simulation technologies in manufacturing and engineering SMEs.
- e-Infrastructures for Africa (eI4Africa, FP7) Feb 2013-Oct 2014. An FP7 project funded by the European Commission (DG CONNECT) under the ‘Capacities Programme’ with the aim of boosting the Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI) potential of African e-Infrastructures and to support policy dialogues and Euro-African cooperation in the framework of the joint Africa-EU Strategic Partnership on ‘trade, regional integration and infrastructures’ (JAES Partnership 3) as well as the Joint Africa-EU Strategic Partnership on ‘science, information society and space’ (JAES Partnership 8).
- Virtual and Augmented Environments and Realistic User Interactions to Achieve Embedded Accessibility Designs (VERITAS, FP7) Feb 2011-Jan 2013. An FP7 project that aims to develop, validate and assess tools for built-in accessibility support at all stages of ICT and non-ICT product development, by introducing simulation-based and virtual reality testing at all stages of assistive technologies product design and development into the automotive, smart living spaces (buildings & construction, domotics), workplace, ehealth and infotainment applications areas.
