About

About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Brunel University of London. My work and research investigates how emerging intelligent technologies can be designed to be accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for diverse users. Situated at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-centred Artificial Intelligence (HCAI), accessibility, and immersive technologies, my work seeks to ensure that technological innovation improves participation and human capabilities rather than creating new forms of exclusion, following a simple philosophy: "Understand people. Design better technologies. Influence future practice."

Research Approach and Philosophy

My research combines theory, human-centred design, controlled experimentation, and open science. Rather than developing technology for its own sake, I seek to understand how intelligent and immersive systems can better support human capabilities through accessibility, transparency, trust, and effective interaction. I believe technology should enhance human capability rather than simply increase machine capability. Intelligent systems should be designed to work with people, not around them, enabling individuals with diverse abilities, expertise, and goals to understand, trust, supervise, and ultimately benefit from increasingly capable digital technologies.

Working Together

I welcome opportunities to collaborate with researchers, students, industry partners, funding organisations, and public sector bodies who share an interest in advancing human-centred intelligent and immersive technologies.
